Things to Do

Santa Clara is home to California’s Great America, a 112-acre amusement park ideal for thrill-seekers. The world-famous Santa Cruz Boardwalk is also just a short drive from town.

Art museums are plentiful in Santa Clara, with the Triton Museum of Art offering contemporary pieces from local Bay area artists. The Triton Museum has been a community mainstay for over 50 years — a place for local artists to show their work and reach wider audiences. The museum also features exhibits from nationally recognized artists on its premises near the Santa Clara Civic Center. Some 40,000 patrons visit the museum each year, and the institution’s education and community programs draw many more citizens. Meanwhile, history buffs will enjoy visiting the Mission Santa Clara de Asis, built by the Franciscans in 1777.

Downtown Santa Clara features Central Park, a 50-acre recreational center open from sunrise to sunset, offering monthly events, free summer entertainment, and plenty of space to enjoy the region's beautiful weather. Every year, the park hosts the Art & Wine Festival, paying homage to local restaurants with delicious food, drink, and live music, and all proceeds go to local community organizations. The annual Silicon Valley BBQ Championships are also not to be missed.
