Local Lifestyle
The highly desired Avenue One community is one of the many gems in Cambrian. The area offers easy access to the 101 and is just minutes away from downtown Los Gatos with its thriving shopping district and many fine dining experiences.
The Santa Cruz beach and boardwalk is a short drive over the hills on Route 17 and less than 20 minutes away. There are also parks, hiking trails, and recreational facilities close to the city limits.
Located on the outskirts of Los Gatos, the close-knit community provides a quiet rural haven from the hustle and bustle of major metropolitan areas. However, it is still close enough to San Jose and San Francisco to find anything you are looking for and more.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
The Cambrian Park Farmers’ Market offers fresh seasonal offerings and artisan goods from May through September. Locally owned cafes and restaurants provide diverse food and drink options throughout the area.
Fine dining options with Michelin-rated restaurants are a short drive away in Los Gatos. The surrounding area boasts many upscale museums and art galleries. While the quiet bedroom community offers plenty of space for relaxation, a vibrant nightlife scene is just a short ride away.
Old Almaden Winery, established in 1852, is the oldest winery in the region and is no longer operating but listed as a California Historical Landmark for public space use. Plenty of blossoming wineries, such as Testarossa Winery, offer tours of their vineyards and have tasting rooms in Los Gatos to sample their locally sourced products.
A short drive to Santana Row is worth the trip for a full day of shopping and entertainment. Known as the “Rodeo Drive of Silicon Valley,” the center includes 14 miles of Mediterranean-style shopping with 20 restaurants offering outdoor seating and live music. The Cocola patisserie is the perfect spot to start the day with French pastries and a steaming cup of cappuccino. They also serve delicious gourmet sandwiches served on baguettes fresh from the oven. More than 70 cutting-edge boutiques offer high-end brands to satisfy any style choice, and nine salons and spas provide many luxurious services.
Things to Do
The Celebrate Cambrian Festival is an annual family-oriented festival that showcases live entertainment and samplings from local restaurants with full-service wine and beer. Sponsored by the City of San Jose, it is a great way to become involved in the community.
La Rinconada Country Club offers picturesque golfing with upscale dining and recreational facilities. The Municipal Rose Garden is a delightful way to enjoy an afternoon stroll along the five-acre property that boasts over 180 rose varieties. The nearby Valley View Trailhead is ideal for a vigorous hike, and Belgatos Park features 17 acres of open space with ample hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. Houge Park is dog-friendly and a favorite spot for local families.
