Almaden Valley is a jewel in the crown of Silicon Valley, nestled between the Santa Teresa Hills to the east and the Santa Cruz Mountains to the west. With breathtaking iconic views of Mt. Umunhum, the area offers abundant parkland and wide-open natural spaces.
The affluent area has a friendly suburban feel with vast peaceful streets and well-maintained properties. Most homes sit on significantly larger lots than neighboring towns, with the average size being one-third of an acre. The average home size tops 2,500 square feet, and many were built between 1960 and 1980 to accommodate growing families.

The pedestrian-friendly town provides safe accessibility for many people to walk or bike to school, work, and local attractions. The quiet ambiance is a refreshing break from the city traffic and noise found in surrounding areas. People tend to look out for one another, making the area an idyllic place to call home.
The weather rarely falls below 35 degrees or rises above 92 degrees, so outdoor recreational and competitive sporting events occur year-round. Almaden Valley has vast open spaces with 15 parks, three lakes, and an open space preserve located within its city limits.
Residents can use The Los Alamitos Creek Trail for hiking, biking, and equestrian riding. It is part of the 550-mile Bay Area Ridge Trail that surrounds the ridgeline of San Francisco Bay.
Almaden Valley has strong ties to the tech giants of neighboring communities and is home to the IBM Almaden Research Center, which plays an integral part in burgeoning technologies. Some of the wealthiest leaders in the tech industry live in this treasured town that is ideally located near the new 80-acre billion-dollar project that Google intends to build in the coming years.

There are several shopping malls in Almaden Valley. The Almaden Plaza is an outdoor shopping plaza with plenty of upscale boutiques. At the Almaden Oaks Shopping Center, Thai Love You restaurant serves quality traditional Thai dishes.
Almaden Valley is also home to many upscale dining options. For more than 40 years, La Foret has been offering fine dining to the region with authentic, classic French cuisine. Adega is the only Portuguese restaurant in the country to receive a Michelin star. The elegant menu complements the extensive wine list featuring 500 of the best Portuguese wines.
For visitors, The Ranch Almaden is a privately-owned hotel inspired by Old World Italian design, bringing exquisite food and wine to the region with an expansive on-property vineyard.
Things to Do
Outdoor activities abound, with cyclists and runners from around the state gathering at Almaden Quicksilver Park for endurance runs and trail conquest marathon competitions.
